A community support project for local families

“Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”

John 6:35

As a church with a deep passion for our community, it is vital to us that we are serving local people in practical ways as well as spiritual.

In March 2020 we delivered a covid response programme called 'The Life Café Project', which was an emergency outreach to help alleviate food poverty during the pandemic. This Project took flight beyond our expectations, and by the time we closed this chapter in May 2021 we had provided over 8,000 cooked meals to people in need. We then piloted a recipe box provision which has shaped the next chapter of our community food support. To find out more about The Life Café Project covid response, please click here.

We are excited to share news of our latest community project: Celebrate Family Food!

This initiative takes lessons from all we have learned from our previous project, as well as updated information about the needs in our community, and gives way to a new programme of food support for vulnerable families in our area.

In partnership with our local schools, churches and community groups, we will be coming alongside vulnerable local families to provide food support as well as advice and guidance on family budgeting, to create lasting positive change in their lives. Our aim is to ensure that families are equipped and encouraged to cook together, making mealtimes a highlight in the household.

We know the power that a meal together can bring to relationships, and through keeping families fed our overall heart is to feel their souls. We look forward to building lasting relationships with local families through food, fellowship and friendship.
